here’s the short version:
The Tusk, in its current form and location will serve its last meals on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
the long version:
“There are too many factors contributing to this decision. Our lease is up this year, I’m losing some really necessary people early next year, I’m burnt out... the list goes on. The very last thing I wanted to do was walk away, especially after surviving the pandemic, and with this past year probably being the most successful one we have had. However, I feel that this is the the choice that must be made for right now, for my own well-being and for that of my family.
We would love to see all of our dear friends over the coming weeks. We will continue offering our full food and bar menu right up until the end. We are also not booking any private events or tables larger than 12, as we would like to give as many people as possible the chance to dine with us. We are no longer selling gift cards, for obvious reasons. PLEASE, if you have a gift card to use, do it now! If you are unable to make it in for dinner, gift cards can be used for takeout, beer or wine, or any of our provisions (summer sausage, pepperettes, merchandise).
I cannot express the disappointment I feel in writing this. I am so sad to leave this part of my life behind. I can only say that you have not seen the last of me — I am not sure what is coming next, but I know there is something. When one door closes... and all that.
We leave with gratitude — for the infinite support, love, friendship, and six amazing years of The Tusk.
Thank you!”
